Make it completely personal

Alongside your cat, Madeleine can incorporate meaningful flowers, plants and other carefully chosen details into the composition.

Perhaps they are someone's favourite flowers, blooms from a wedding bouquet, plants from a much-loved garden, or simply colours and flowers that have a special significance to you.

The portrait shown here was commissioned as a gift and features two much-loved cats surrounded by the recipient's favourite flowers. The different elements were brought together into one original watercolour painting to create something completely personal to them.

Your own commission does not have to include flowers — they are simply one of the ways Madeleine can make your artwork more personal.

Painted from your photographs

Choose your preferred size and framing option, then upload a clear photograph of your cat when ordering.

A bright, well-lit photograph is best, particularly where your cat's eyes, face, colouring and markings can be seen clearly.

If you would like two or more cats included, they do not necessarily need to be together in the same photograph. Madeleine can work from separate reference photographs and bring them together naturally within the finished composition.

If you would like flowers or other personal details included, please provide photographs or tell Madeleine what you have in mind.

This isn't a digital filter or a photograph converted into a watercolour effect.

Your custom cat portrait is drawn and painted by hand by Madeleine using ink and watercolour, combining expressive linework, layered washes and delicate detail to create an original piece of artwork full of character and feeling.

Each commission is painted especially for you and signed by the artist.

How your custom cat portrait works

1. Choose your size and framing
   Select the portrait size and whether you would like your artwork framed.
2. Upload your photographs
   Send a clear photograph of your cat. For multiple cats, you can provide separate photographs.
3. Tell Madeleine about any personal details
   If you'd like flowers, plants or another meaningful element included, let Madeleine know what you have in mind.
4. Your portrait is painted by hand
   Madeleine will create your original ink and watercolour portrait in her Black Country studio.
5. Your finished artwork is carefully packed and posted
   Once complete, your portrait will be safely packaged and sent from the UK.

More than one cat?

Absolutely.

Madeleine can create portraits featuring two or more cats and can work from separate photographs to bring them together within one artwork.

Not sure which photographs to choose?

Don't worry. Clear photographs taken in natural light usually work best, especially where your cat's face, eyes and markings are easy to see.
